Excellence

Everyone who is anyone wants excellence. Why? Because we all want to be excellent! First of all, what is excellence? Depending on the person excellence may mean a lot of different things. To one, excellence maybe an accomplishment of a goal or someone winning an award. Having gain a learning aspect of hard work means excellence.” Excellence can be obtained if you, care more than others think is wise, risk more than others think is safe, dream more than others think is practical, expect more than others think is possible.”

“It is useless to you only because you want to make it into something else and do not use it in its proper way.’ (Benjamin Hoff) Just like this quote from The Crooked Tree, anything you have accomplished is excellence depending on how you want it to be or not. Hard work, practice, and practice make excellence. None of us are perfect but we can work and try to improve it. It’s not always winning a game or being number one to be excellence. Excellence deprived from hard work, as long as you work hard, practice, and practice you’ll learn the value of it. You will learn that it’s more valuable to enjoy the game and try your best than only trying to win, win, and win.

When it comes to writing, some of us freak out. Writing can be very intimating. We all want our paper to be perfect and make us sound smart. But because wanting the paper to do all that, we sometime are pressure. No one has pressure us to, but we do it to ourselves. The pressure can sometime push some of us too far and sometimes plagiarism can be the outcome of it. I guess many students sometimes are left with this only option. But are they really? Plagiarism should never be an option!

“The Center also found in a 2000-2001 study of high school students that 72% admitted to serious cheating on writing assignment.” (Look out for more Blairs) Student thinks that they can get away with plagiarism the first time, and then the next, and again. But sooner or later a teacher will find out and the consequence will be big! Plagiarisms are sometime acknowledged in online sites. Many sites use the same background information or sometimes even the exact wording. “I can’t help but think that my students see this and conclude that it’s OK. But it’s not OK.” (Look out for more Blairs) Even if you’re not the best writer, write what you feel and sometime it’ll come to you. At the end you’ll feel better than the others who did plagiarize. That feeling can be very much awarding then the other feeling if you were to plagiarize. The choice to write your own paper than plagiarizing is an excellence choice.

By writing and using your own work, practicing, and try taking a chance to achieve the impossible, is all excellence. It all comes to if you learned the value of that hard work. Maybe to others it might not be excellence but what is most important is that you think its excellence.
